The Governor
De Gouverneur (The Governor) bar is a popular destination for hotel guests and locals alike, where you will be able to enjoy a friendly and warm ambience, whilst having a small bite to eat or savouring, amongst others, one of the many authentic Dutch and Belgium beers available on tap. All the walls in the bar are filled with advertising signs, and frames filled with historic newspaper articles of the time when prices were low and trade was honest.
On the stage of our bar you will find an original Steinway grand piano dating from 1859. The piano is often used by our regular guests that who love to entertain the audience with their beautiful music.
We also offer the possibility to enjoy your drink in our “Herenkamer” (gentlemens room) or ‘Kleine Gouverneur’ behind closed doors or in our garden. When you enter the Gouverneur you see immediately that the café is a place for everyone, visitors are from all ages. The staff is friendly and service is the most important aspect.
